Johnstown, CO – July 23, 2020 – Johnstown Officials are appreciative of every resident who has made a point to cooperate with the new watering schedule and is still encouraging residents, who have not already, to adopt the timing of the schedule as overnight watering increases. As a reminder, the schedule impacts those who water between the hours of 10pm-6am, specifically automatic irrigation systems.
The idea of the new watering schedule is that it will help to even out the overnight demand of water, specifically during the peak hours of 9pm-12am and 3am-6am. At this time, Town Officials are confident in Johnstown residents in making this change and being able to even out the demand of water over those peak hours but as the weeks pass, more attention will need to be paid to the effectiveness of the current schedule and the potential for a stricter schedule. The Town aims to continue to provide uninterrupted access to water to all residents during the summer and the Town’s recent watering schedule ensures that residents have access to this resource when they really need it.
At this time, the Town is requesting those who water overnight (between 10pm-6am) to please adjust their watering schedule:
Odd numbered homes water from 10pm-12:30am
Even numbered homes water from 3am-5:30am.
