Johnstown, CO - May 29, 2020 -- Town of Johnstown officials have decided to open Town facilities to the public beginning on June 1, 2020. The Town facilities that will be opening with restricted access to the public (anticipated full public access to start June 14) are:
Town Hall, 450 S. Parish Avenue
Public Works, 201 S. 1st Place
Municipal Court, 450 S. Parish Avenue
Police Department Headquarters, 430 S. Parish Avenue
Police Substation, 4890 Ronald Reagan Boulevard
While Town services have still been up and running since the closure of Town facilities in mid-March, much of the Town’s regular business processes have had to be flexible on account of the coronavirus. In the same way, the Town anticipates that conducting business within the Town’s Facilities now will look different than before COVID-19. The services that have been offered online will still be available online in addition to regular in-person services at the Town Hall, including Municipal Court.
When visiting Town facilities, residents can expect strict social distancing measures, a restriction on the number of people waiting in the lobby of the buildings, and the requirement to wear a mask into the facility (if able). Employees of the Town of Johnstown are also being required to wear PPE when necessary, be temperature checked prior to beginning their work shift, and continue to use remote meeting opportunities when possible.
At this time, the Community Center (Senior Center) remains closed according to State guidelines regarding high-risk populations. Residents are strongly encouraged to remember to keep a distance of 6 feet from others and do not congregate, wear masks when leaving the home, and continue to wash hands and clean frequently touched surfaces.
