Crews are beginning the final work this month on the Colorado Highway 60 bridge over the Little Thompson River. Asphalt paving, seeding, shoulder work and striping the new bridge and its approaches are among the items to be completed for the anticipated mid-May opening of this new bridge.Grading work for the Little Thompson River channel realignment is ongoing, as are erosion control measures, including planting throughout the new channel.Traffic impacts, including delays, can be expected through mid-May during the closure of CO 60 from CR 19 to CO 257 and on CO 257 through the shoofly diversion structure over the Little Thompson River. Traffic impacts on CO 257 will escalate in late May with the closure of both CO 257 and the shoofly diversion structure. Also, this month, work will begin on Colorado Highway 257 to complete embankment and approach slab construction. Beginning in late May, both the shoofly diversion structure and CO 257 will be closed for 3-4 weeks to allow crews to remove the shoofly diversion structure and complete the new bridge on CO 257.Construction hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday with some Saturday work, depending on overall schedule progress.FLAGGERS AND CONSTRUCTION CREWS WILL BE WORKING IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO TRAFFIC FLOW!
