New Pedestrian Crossing Signals

As part of Johnstown Town Council’s 2018 Action Items, motorists will be required to yield to pedestrians with the installation of three new, solar pedestrian crossing signals at some heavy-traffic areas in Town. Signals were installed in May 2018 at Highway 60 and Johnstown Center Drive, Estes Avenue and Idaho Avenue.

Motorists, please use extra caution as you approach crosswalks, and remember drivers are legally required to yield the right-of-way to pedestrians when using the crosswalks. Pedestrians should use caution as well by establishing eye contact with drivers and cyclists before crossing.

Pictured below is installation of the pedestrian crossing signal at the intersection of Highway and Johnstown Center Drive.
