The South Parish Avenue road construction project began in the Spring of 2015 with the purpose of widening the road and the Little Thompson River Bridge to create a bike/pedestrian pathway for Johnstown residents. The project, which reached completion in November 2015, was conducted between Weld County Road (WCR) 46 and the Pioneer Ridge subdivision.
Phases included pavement, striping, installation of the new guardrail, seeding, erosion control work, as well as installation of the new, LED flashing, solar powered pedestrian signal that is now in operation for use in crossing S. Parish Ave.
The cooperation of Johnstown residents throughout this process has been greatly appreciated. We hope everyone – motorists, cyclists and pedestrians alike – enjoy the new bike/pedestrian pathway and improved Little Thompson River Bridge.
