Happy Holidays!

It's been a beautiful holiday season here in Johnstown, and I hope you and your families have had and continue to enjoy this most wonderful time of the year. As my wife, Julie, my son, Jack, and I reflect on our many blessings, I'd like to extend a sincere thanks to YOU, the amazing residents who make our little town great. Your friendliness, compassion and hard work in spreading goodwill this time of year is greatly appreciated.

It is because of your generous donations that children in need across our area will enjoy a sense of joy and true holiday spirit this year by receiving Christmas gifts through the Santa Cops of Weld County program. Of all the reasons Johnstown is a great place to live, YOU are truly the Town's greatest asset.

I constantly am blessed to hear of different individuals and organizations in our community who selflessly serve others ahead of yourself in the true spirit of our #PleaseDoGoodStuff Initiative. We all have the ability to be net positives, not negatives. To help, not hinder. To smile, not frown. To lift one another up and not tear one another down. When you witness one of your neighbors "doing good stuff," please let me know via email at We'd love to recognize them with a Mayor's Please Do Good Stuff Award!

It's been an eventful year for Johnstown. We've been amid a transformation that has brought exciting progress in terms of commercial development, street improvement, and the approval of a community recreation center, to name a few. As we look ahead to the New Year, more substantial advancements are in store in the form of major grand openings and town improvements that will further establish Johnstown as a key destination spot in Northern Colorado, not only for shopping, but for living the great life.

It is absolutely my honor and pleasure to serve as your Mayor and to work closely with Town Council and our dedicated employees on your behalf. I look forward to the great times that await us as a community in the near future. I wish you all a New Year full of peace, prosperity and happiness.

Have a blessed Holiday season!

Mayor Scott James
